ZORGE’s driven orientation towards an even more intensive customer and process focus continues. With Arent van der Bent, we have gained a highly qualified solutions expert who will significantly strengthen our product development and manufacturing expertise. He joined our Dutch team in Katwijk in September 2024 as a process engineer and industrial product developer.

More than just a process engineer: a true all-rounder for your challenge.
Mr van der Bent combines several specialist skills in one person, which are invaluable to us and to the plastics and elastomer industry. With a sound mechanical engineering education at the ROC in Leiden and a degree as HBO Industrial Product Designer at the Haagse Hogeschool, he not only has in-depth technical knowledge, but also creative problem-solving skills.
With over 18 years of professional experience in the development of injection moulded parts, tool and mould making and the process optimisation of various production methods, he is a true expert in the field of injection moulding technology. His previous tasks have included product development and mould construction for plastic and elastomer moulded parts such as housings, control panels and user interfaces for a wide range of components and devices. His extensive experience also includes the design optimisation of existing products with regard to manufacturability and cost minimisation.

As an experienced industrial product designer and process engineer for single and multi-component silicone moulded parts, Mr van der Bent is responsible for high-end tool and mould conception, development and approval of designs as well as the execution of test runs and prototypes. Particularly noteworthy is his expertise in the design and implementation of parts for specific manufacturing processes, including his innovative ideas and solutions in the field of robotics and gripper plates for automation. In this area, he has already developed numerous customised solutions for a wide range of customer requirements. He also plays a leading role in the fine-tuning and implementation of our UTP vision system, which leads to an improvement in production processes and ensures a high level of product safety.

In addition to his technical expertise, Mr van der Bent is characterised by his versatile personal skills and social commitment. He is a real doer who also likes to ‘get his hands dirty’ – be it milling, turning or welding. With his technical inventiveness, he has already designed and implemented numerous new products and production processes that both increase efficiency and improve product quality. This makes him an indispensable member of our team, always finding and enabling the right solution for our customers’ needs.
